By airplane: There are direct railway connections from Zurich and Geneva airports. Many European airports have also direct connections to Bern Airport by the airline Swiss.

By train: There are excellent railway connections between Bern and the majority of European cities.

By car: Bern is connected to the Swiss (and European) motorway system. This map shows you where to exit A1 and drive to the Congress Venue.

Locally, Bus Nr 11 runs from the main railway station (which is very close to the centre of the town) to the Inselspital. The trip takes about 10 minutes. You can purchase a visitors transportation access card at BernTourism, represented at the Congress Venue (near the registration desk). This card allows unlimited bus rides within Bern City during the Congress time.

There is limited parking space available at Inselspital Underground Parking (below the Educational Centre -- See Maps). However, be warned: parking there is quite expensive.

Climate and Dress

May temperatures in Bern can be very variable between 10°C and 18 °C. Nights may still be quite cold, around 6°C to 10 °C. So take a pullover and a raincoat with you but also sun cream if you are optimistic.
